Attribution Policy
Last updated: April 30, 2026
1. What We Attribute
Every insight in The Distribution Market database is linked to its original public source. Each record includes:
- Publisher name — the channel, podcast, or publication where the interview or content appeared
- Host / interviewer name — the person who conducted the interview, where applicable
- Publication date — when the source content was published
- Source URL — a direct link to the original YouTube video, podcast episode, or blog post so readers can verify context and consume the full content
Attribution is mandatory. No insight is published without a complete source record.
2. Quote Cap
Our primary payload is always our own paraphrase of what the founder said — we call this the “claim text.” A verbatim quote is included only when it materially illustrates the claim and cannot be better expressed otherwise.
Verbatim quotes are capped at 25 words. We never reproduce full sentences or paragraphs of copyrighted speech. This practice is consistent with fair use commentary and the EU quotation exception (Directive 2019/790, Article 17).
If no representative quote under 25 words can be identified, the quote field is left blank and the insight relies solely on our paraphrase.
3. Revenue Labels
All revenue figures on the Platform carry an explicit label indicating the basis of the data:
- Stripe-verified — confirmed directly from a Stripe dashboard screenshot or via our TrustMRR partner API
- Reported — stated by the founder in a public interview or post, with source link
- Estimated — derived from publicly available signals (pricing × known user count, etc.) with methodology noted
- Inferred — reasonably inferred from adjacent data points; lower confidence
- Unverified — included for completeness; not confirmed by any reliable signal; treat with caution
Unverified figures are not surfaced in default feed views. Labels are displayed prominently alongside every revenue figure.
4. Creator Partner Program
In a future release, we plan to offer a Creator Partner programme that allows podcast hosts, YouTube interviewers, and newsletter authors to opt in to having their content featured with enhanced attribution — including backlinks, episode embed cards, and audience referrals. Participation will be voluntary and governed by a separate partner agreement.
If you are a creator and want to be notified when this programme launches, email us at hugues@topr.io.
5. Opt-Out
Any founder whose content is indexed on The Distribution Market may request removal of their profile and all associated insights at any time. Opt-out requests are honored within 10 business days. Once an opt-out is processed, we retire all associated records and flag the founder’s identity in our ingestion pipeline to prevent re-ingestion.
To submit an opt-out request, email hugues@topr.io with “Opt-out request” in the subject line.
6. DMCA Designated Agent
The Distribution Market intends to register a DMCA designated agent with the United States Copyright Office pursuant to 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(2). Registration is currently in progress.
In the meantime, direct all DMCA notices to:
DMCA agent registration in progress per 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(2). We acknowledge facially valid DMCA notices within 48 hours and resolve within 10 business days.
